Materials for Intelligent Nanoelectronic Devices
(MINDs Lab)
We are a research lab based in the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton, UK.
Using atomically thin two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors that go beyond the limits of conventional foundry scaling, we develop embedded memory and sensing devices that enable energy-efficient, secure hardware for future computing and sustainable AI.
We tackle key engineering bottlenecks in controlling charge and electron spin states in 2D semiconductors at the nanoscale, enabling reliable, ultra-low-energy, non-volatile information storage, sensing, and processing. We also study how these states interact with light, both to advance precise device metrology and to unlock routes toward emerging quantum technologies.
We are part of the Sustainable Electronic Technologies (SET) research group and the ECS Centre for Neuromorphic Technologies (CeNT).
